Frequently Asked Questions

In today’s economy, it is expensive to buy power from the utility company; but installing solar system on your home can save you a lot of money in the long run. You can save upto 85-90% on your electricity bills by using the solar electricity you produce. Entire system payback period is between 3-4 years & you’ll generate free power for more than 22 years. You save a lot on government incentives for going solar. Even if you don’t produce 100 percent of the energy you consume; solar system still reduces your utility bills and you reduce your carbon footprint! The list goes on.

Solar energy is an abundant source of power for your home, yet vastly underused. For residential customer’s electricity tariff for 0-100 units is ₹6, For 100-300 units is ₹11.75, for 301-500 units is ₹16 & for above 500 units it is ₹18. So if one’s bill is above 300 units he can go for solar system installation.
For commercial & industrial connections the consumption is generally more, so one can easily opt for solar. Solar panels are less expensive today than ever before, and with government incentives, they can even pay for themselves within a few years, so if you are thinking of installing solar panels contact our team and they will guide you with best available option.

Because solar is not the only source of electricity, all appliances can run on it. When the load exceeds the generated solar power, electricity is drawn from the grid. When generated solar electricity exceeds required load, the excess electricity is fed back intothe grid.

We are now moving towards renewable energy sources. While installing the solar power system for home
it is obvious to get confused between polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar panels. Monocrystalline
panels can give 210 Wp generation per square meter whereas poly-crystalline panels generate 172 Wp
per square meter at Standard Test Conditions.

Polycrystalline solar panels:

– They are cost effective
– They are easier to handle
– Their efficiency ranges from 16-18%
– Made from multiple silicon fragments to form polycrystalline cell.
-Typically 1 kW of solar plant using polycrystalline solar panels would require 90 sq. ft. space.

Monocrystalline solar panels:
-Their efficiency ranges from 19-22%
-Made from single silicon crystal to form a monocrystalline solar cell.
-They have higher premium if compared to polycrystalline panels
– Works well in low light conditions
– Typically 1 kW of solar plant using polycrystalline solar panels would require 70 sq. ft. space.

So which is the better choice?

Sometimes it can happen that area for solar panel installation is smaller than the required solar capacity. In such situation, one should think of going for the monocrystalline panels as less space is required per kW. However, if ample of space is available one can select the the polycrystalline panels. Take an energy audit and depending on the site condition, area, and the energy requirement our experts will guide you with the best choice.

At the end of each financial year the surplus units are credited in your next bill at the APPC rate I.e. an average power purchase cost. (Rate at which DISCOM purchases electricity)

The demand charges for connection will remain unchanged. Excess solar energy generation may occur in some months; in such cases, extra units are carried forward to the following month. When your consumption is more than your solar generation, you will be charged for the energy units imported from the grid & whenever you will supply extra energy to the grid you will receive the rewards.

We are solar electricity project solution providers. We can recommend the best solar equipment based on your needs. We do not adhere to any particular brand. You can tell us what type of solar panels you want to install and your preferences, and after a thorough energy audit, our experts will provide you with the most recent versions of solar inverters and solar panels to meet your energy needs.

The meter in our house is usually unidirectional and only counts the amount of electricity we use. When we install a solar system, we become both a producer and a consumer, requiring the installation of a bidirectional (Net-meter) device. This meter tracks both import (the units we use from the grid) and export (Units which are exported to the grid). For example, if the current load is 50 units and solar generates 100 units, 50 units will be exported to the grid. In another case, if the load requirement is 100 units and solar generates 50 units, 50 units will be drawn from the grid. You will receive a bill at the end of the month detailing the units you imported and exported. You only have to pay for the balance units i.e. import- export.

The solar panels come with a 10-year standard manufacturer warranty and a 25-year performance warranty. The solar inverter, on the other hand, comes with a standard 5-year warranty. All of these warranties are passed on to the end user by the original equipment manufact urer (OEM).

It is determined by the type of solar panels used in the solar power system. When using polycrystalline modules, one kW of solar power requires approximately 90 square feet of space. When we use monocrystalline panels, however, the required area is reduced to 70 square feet per kW. If you are uncertain, please contact our team and they will suggest you the best option.

1 kW of on grid solar plant can generate up to 110 units per month on an average under Strandard Test Conditions.
