What is Energy Audit?

To put it in simple words, energy efficiency means utilizing less energy to do the same job. The energy audit helps you to understand a complete electricity consumption and assessment of how one can manage to complete the same work using less energy without affecting the quality of your final output. An energy audit is a detailed assessment of your building’s energy performance. It looks at everything from the building’s fabric and structure to the equipment being used, its location and how it has been used. What Is Done During an Energy Audit

During an energy audit, our auditor will visit your premises and evaluate various aspects of your building’s energy usage. He will prepare a detailed report of the evaluation and make recommendations for improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Some of the key aspects of the energy audit are pre-audit, evaluation, suggestion to improve your energy usage. There are certain steps that are followed during an energy audit. Here are the steps of energy audit –

  • Pre-audit: Before starting the audit, the auditor will discuss with you and understand the requirements. They will also do a pre-visit to understand the current situation. This will help them to understand the current situation and to prepare a report.
  • Evaluation: The auditor will examine the existing equipment, such as ACs, fans, pumps, light fixtures, HAVC etc. How the equipment is being used and make recommendations for improvements.

They will also examine the frequency at which the equipment is currently being used and check if it to be used at the same frequency, would it affect the quality of the output. Not only this they will examine the existing wiring, its quality and recommend whether the wiring needs to be replaced or not.

  • Equipment performance:
    The auditor will examine the equipment performance and check if the equipment is functioning at its optimum level. They will also examine whether the equipment is appropriate for the current job or not and will make sure whether the equipment is being used at the right place or not.
  • Suggestions to improve your energy usage:
    Once the evaluation is completed the energy auditor will give you a detailed list of recommendations you can take to improve energy efficiency. All these suggestions will help you save money on utility bills.
